POSITION: Operations Coordinator
LOCATION: Durbanville

A well-stablished and reputable cold storage operator that provides
management solutions for cold storage of fruit and other perishable industries are looking for a operations coordinator.


We are currently in search of an experienced Operations Coordinator to join our dynamic team.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate and manage all cold store operational performance and activities (intakes, shipping, stowing and inspections) with a strong focus on cost management.
  • Booking of staff to ensure that planned daily operational targets are met.
  • Maintain exceptional housekeeping standards.
  • Identify and participate in areas of continuous improvement to ensure best practice.
  • Ensure all operational equipment is in good working order.
  • Manage staff over a 3-shift system – 24/7-hour operation.
  • Lead, manage and develop staff with a strong emphasis on training and development, time and attendance, performance management and adherence to Health and Safety regulations, company policies and procedures and any other applicable protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • Matric.
  • A tertiary qualification in operations management will enhance your application.
  • Minimum 10 years’ operational experience in a production environment, warehouse environment and/or cold storage of fruit.
  • Experience in the fruit export industry will be advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Above average computer skills (MS office). Working knowledge of Paltrack will be advantageous.
  • Driver’s license is compulsory.
  • Working in cold temperatures (0.5⁰C) are a prerequisite for this position.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to work on an after-hours basis when required.

  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
