Position Overview

A well established software company, based in Melbourne, Australia is seeking an experienced Project Manager with deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central/Navision, to lead complex implementation projects for their clients. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience across the platform's evolution, from Navision through to modern Business Central, with specialized knowledge in manufacturing and service management modules. This role requires someone who can navigate all phases of implementation projects while providing technical leadership and ensuring exceptional client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership

• Lead full-cycle Business Central implementation projects from initial scoping through to go-live and post-implementation support
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and budgets
• Conduct regular project status meetings and provide clear, concise reporting to stakeholders
• Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues throughout the implementation lifecycle
• Ensure adherence to established methodologies while adapting approaches to meet specific client needs
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including developers, consultants, and client resources

Business Central/Navision Expertise

• Provide subject matter expertise across Business Central/Navision functionality, with particular focus on manufacturing and service management modules
• Analyze client business processes and requirements to configure optimal system solutions
• Design and validate system architecture and integration strategies
• Lead solution design sessions and provide technical guidance to implementation teams
• Conduct gap analyses and develop solutions for complex business requirements
• Guide data migration strategies from legacy systems to Business Central

Client Management

• Serve as primary technical point of contact for client stakeholders
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and expectation management
• Train and mentor client teams on Business Central functionality and best practices
• Provide expert consultation on business process optimization leveraging Business Central capabilities
• Develop change management strategies to ensure successful user adoption

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field
• Microsoft certifications related to Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Dynamics NAV/Navision/Business Central implementations
• Proven track record leading at least 5 full-cycle Business Central implementation projects
• Deep technical knowledge of Business Central/Navision architecture and configuration
• Specialized expertise in manufacturing and/or service management modules
• Experience with business process analysis, requirements gathering, and solution design
• Strong understanding of data migration methodologies and tools
• Proficiency in integration design between Business Central and other enterprise systems
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate)
• Strong understanding of financial processes and ERP fundamentals
• Excellent project management skills with PMP or Prince2 certification preferred
