QA/ Agronomy Raw Material Manager

POSITION: QA/ Agronomy Raw Material Manager
LOCATION: Alrode
REPORTING TO: Processing director

Purpose of the Job
To ensure all raw potatoes coming in are sampled and graded according to procedure and communicated
in a timely manner to the necessary departments. To ensure all raw potato suppliers are approved and
that the necessary audits are done according to procedure and schedule.

 
Role and Responsibilities
Key Performance Areas:
  • Quality of raw product received.
  • Interact and communicate with Agri Department and Production Department.
  • Legislation and compliance.
  • GMP Standards.
  • Labor.
 
Tasks:
  • Manage the Potato Lab and QA personnel and make sure samples and grading are done correctly according to the procedure.
  • Ensure gradings are recorded correctly and sent out timeously to the different departments.
  • Communicate any major deviations to the Agronomy Department as well as the Production Department.
  • Update the Raw Potato Intake Summary and send it to the necessary people.
  • Making sure that MRL samples are taken and that results are checked and communicated to the Agronomy Department.
  • Working with the Agronomy Department to make sure supplier approval and evaluation is up to date.
  • Implement and Manage the Natures Gap Audit together with Agronomy Department, this will include performing the audits for all suppliers.
 
Housekeeping:
  • Ensuring that potato lab is always clean and tidy.
  • Ensure allocated area is always clean and tidy.
  • Assisting in maintaining housekeeping standards.
  • GMP, Housekeeping and Good Manufacturing conditions.
  • Adhere to GMP, Good Manufacturing, Health and Safety policy and procedures.
  • Checking and reporting that there are no unsafe acts, conditions, or equipment.
  • Ensure personnel in your area adhere to GMP standard.

Minimum Requirements:
  • QA Qualification.
  • Agronomy qualification.
  • 3-5 years’ experience.
  • Conversant in English including very good written and verbal communication.
  • Knowledge of food safety principles.
  • Own transport.
