REPORTING TO: Factory Manager
Job Purpose
Supervise the end-to-end production process, incl. trim inspection, grinding, mixing, spooling,
filling, packing, wrapping, labelling of all boerewors/sausage, burgers, meatballs and value add products.
Output:
Production
- Responsible for mince, skin pack, fresh cut MAP and value add production process.
- Develop, review and implement efficient and effective procedures and processes to optimize production.
- Responsible for the delivery of product according to a set standard, at a reasonable cost and productivity.
- Stock control management (stock rotation).
- Ensure product meets all customer requirements especially but not limited to product appearance, packing and labelling.
- Oversee that hygiene standards are applied throughout all process and procedures.
- Responsible for the application of the correct selection criteria and quality standards (e.g. neatness; sequence etc.) of labelling.
- Ensure that all procedures are implemented in accordance with legal requirements e.g. hygiene.
- Report all non-conformances (quality and maintenance) to immediate manager and apply effective remedial action according to company procedures.
People Supervision
- Supervise and control subordinate's activities to ensure daily production targets are met.
- Supervise time and attendance of all subordinates.
- Ensure disciplinary procedures are applied adequately.
- Assure stable employee relations by managing conflict and creating a positive and performing working environment.
SHEQ
- Always ensure acceptable personal hygiene of all staff.
- Always manage correct use of PPE.
- Ensure that process and product hygiene standards are always maintained.
- All duties are performed according to the group Occupational Health and Safety guidelines and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Qualification details
- Grade 12 is required.
Experience
- 3 – 5 years’ operational experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
