POSITION: Logistics Coordinator
LOCATION: Stellenbosch
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Logistics Coordinator to manage and
coordinate the movement of products for an export-focused business. The successful candidate
will act as the key link between the freight forwarder and the commercial team, ensuring that all
logistics activities are coordinated efficiently and that shipments are delivered according to agreed
requirements and timelines.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of logistics experience within an export environment,
with a strong understanding of international freight processes. They must be comfortable dealing
directly with freight forwarders and commercial teams and have the ability to ensure that shipments,
documentation and communication are managed accurately from booking through to delivery.

Minimum Requirements
- 3–5 years’ logistics experience, preferably working for an exporter.
- Experience coordinating international export shipments.
- Previous experience working closely with freight forwarders.
- Strong understanding of logistics processes, documentation and shipment coordination.
- Experience liaising with commercial, sales or supply chain teams.
- Excellent administration and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate the end-of-end logistics process for export shipments.
- Liaise with the appointed freight forwarder regarding bookings, collections, shipping schedules and documentation.
- Act as the main point of contact between the freight forwarder and the commercial team.
- Ensure the commercial team receives accurate and timely updates on shipment status.
- Monitor shipment schedules and proactively communicate any delays or changes.
- Coordinate loading, collection and delivery requirements.
Export Documentation
- Ensure all relevant export and shipping documentation is prepared accurately and submitted within required deadlines.
- Check documentation received from freight forwarders, suppliers and internal departments.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and supporting documentation.
- Ensure that all logistics documentation complies with customer and export requirements.
Commercial Liaison
- Work closely with the commercial team to understand customer requirements, shipment priorities and delivery deadlines.
- Provide regular updates on shipment progress.
- Communicate changes to schedules, ETAs, delays or other logistics issues promptly.
- Assist the commercial team with logistics-related queries and requirements.
Freight Forwarder Management
- Build and maintain a professional working relationship with the freight forwarder.
- Obtain and compare shipping schedules and available options where required.
- Follow up on bookings, vessel schedules, documentation and shipment progress.
- Resolve logistics queries and escalate issues where necessary.
- Ensure the freight forwarder meets agreed service levels and deadlines.
