POSITION: Group Accountant
LOCATION: Midrand
REPORTING TO: Financial Manager

Role Description

To take responsibility for financial and other tasks related to specific business units as well as group finance activities.

Key Performance Areas

Completion of a minimum 10 cashbooks, with daily updating
Involvement in foreign exchange transactions
Monthly financial and management reporting.
Meeting specific month end deadlines in a timely manner.
Capture financial entries, review financial performance and distribute financial reports.
Support the preparation of Group cash flow forecasts
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with Group treasury policies, accounting policies, and internal controls
Perform and review bank account reconciliations across Group entities
Compilation of G.L recons monthly.
Record and maintain accurate accounting entries for Group treasury transactions.
Account for cash movements, bank transactions, loans, deposits, interest, foreign exchange transactions, and other treasury-related activities.
Maintain internal control and compliance with company policies.
Ad hoc tasks as and when requested.

Qualification and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:

Matric \ Grade 12 (Compulsory)
BCom degree

BCom Degree

Relevant Experience

At least 3 years working experience as a Treasury Accountant
Up to date accounting experience and foreign exchange transactions.
Must be able to communicate effectively (verbally and written) with management
Proficiency in Excel and Outlook and knowledge of MS Office
Ability to work under pressure in order to manage and meet strict deadlines.
Performance driven and attention to detail.
Must be able to deliver results in a team environment.

Must be reliable and accept responsibility for the tasks assigned to them.
