We are seeking an innovative and commercially minded AI Specialist to drive the adoption and effective
use of Artificial Intelligence across a diverse food manufacturing and distribution environment.
The successful candidate will identify opportunities where AI, automation, data analytics and emerging
technologies can improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, enhance decision-making and support
business growth. This role will work closely with management and various departments, including Operations,
Production, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Human Resources and IT, to identify business challenges

Key Responsibilities
AI Strategy & Implementation
- Develop and implement practical AI initiatives aligned with business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to use AI to improve productivity, efficiency and profitability.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies, platforms and tools and make recommendations to management.
- Develop an AI roadmap for the organisation and assist with prioritising AI projects.
- Stay up to date with developments in Generative AI, machine learning, automation and data analytics.
Business Process Automation
- Identify repetitive and time-consuming processes that can be automated using AI.
- Implement AI-powered solutions to streamline administration and business processes.
- Automate reporting, document processing, data capturing and information management where appropriate.
- Work with departments to redesign processes around AI and automation opportunities.
- Measure the impact and return on investment of implemented solutions.
Food Manufacturing & Supply Chain Applications
- Explore AI applications within production planning, forecasting and scheduling.
- Use AI and data analysis to identify production efficiencies and potential bottlenecks.
- Investigate AI solutions for demand forecasting and inventory optimisation.
- Support improved procurement and supply chain decision-making through data-driven insights.
- Identify opportunities to improve waste reduction, stock management and operational efficiency.
- Investigate predictive analytics applications for equipment maintenance and production reliability.
Data & Analytics
- Analyse business data to identify trends, opportunities, risks and inefficiencies.
- Develop dashboards, reports and AI-driven insights for management.
- Assist departments in making better data-driven decisions.
- Work with existing ERP, CRM, financial, production and operational systems to identify opportunities for AI integration.
- Ensure data used for AI applications is accurate, relevant and appropriately managed.
Generative AI
- Introduce appropriate Generative AI tools to improve employee productivity.
- Develop and maintain effective AI prompts, workflows and templates.
- Identify applications for AI in areas such as reporting, correspondence, research, documentation and customer communication.
- Train employees on the responsible and effective use of Generative AI.
- Establish guidelines around appropriate AI usage within the organisation.
AI Governance & Risk
- Assist in developing AI policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
- Ensure AI solutions comply with company policies, data protection requirements and applicable legislation.
- Consider risks relating to data privacy, confidentiality, cybersecurity and AI-generated information.
- Promote responsible and ethical use of AI throughout the organisation.
- Monitor the performance and reliability of AI solutions.
Training & Change Management
- Educate employees and management on the practical benefits and limitations of AI.
- Conduct AI training and awareness sessions across different departments.
- Encourage adoption of appropriate AI tools and technologies.
- Provide ongoing support to users implementing AI into their daily workflows.
- Act as an internal AI subject-matter expert and point of contact.
Collaboration & Project Management
- Work closely with IT and business stakeholders on AI-related projects.
- Liaise with external technology providers, software vendors and AI specialists where required.
- Manage AI implementation projects from concept through to deployment.
- Document processes, requirements, solutions and outcomes.
- Monitor project performance, costs and business benefits.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Business Analytics or a related field.
- 2–5 years' experience in AI, data analytics, automation, technology implementation or a related role.
- Practical experience with Generative AI and AI productivity tools.
- Experience implementing or supporting AI-driven business solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working with business data and reporting.
- Understanding of automation technologies and workflow optimisation.
- Good understanding of data privacy, cybersecurity and responsible AI principles.
- Experience working with ERP, CRM or other business systems would be advantageous.
Technical Skills
