Salary: R1200k per annum

Minimum requirements
  • IT Strategic Management experience in Group of companies is NON-NEGOTIABLE
  • BSc/BA in in Computer Science or a similar qualification is preferred by exp will make up if lacking a formal qualification
  • Proven track record to proactively identify IT related business requirements and the ability to implement strategic and creative solutions.
  • Minimum three years’ experience as an IT Manager
  • Ability to communicate effectively - verbally and in writing
  • Ability to recognise opportunities to add capabilities
  • Proven track record to recommend and implement cost saving initiatives
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
  • Expertise in data centre management and data governance
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Navision experience will be an advantage

Duties and responsibilities
  • Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established goals
  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by the Board
  • Analyse the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
  • Purchase efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software
  • Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems
  • Coordinate the duties and responsibilities of the employees in the IT Department
  • Control the IT budget and report on expenditure
  • Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
  • Audit systems and assess their outcomes
  • Preserve assets, information security and control structures
  • Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness
