Inventory and Supply Chain Coordinator

POSITION: Inventory and Supply Chain Coordinator
LOCATION: Kempton Park, Gauteng

Position Description
Responsibilities:
Inventory planning & management:
  • Running MRP (system & manual)
  • Planning of stock orders & communicating these to the Purchasing Administrative Assistant (PAA)
  • Communicating new or changed Inventory Orders as captured by the PAA to Suppliers
  • Obtain order confirmations from Suppliers and communicate these to the PAA
  • Review of weekly/monthly expediting reports from the Purchasing Admin Assistant and action as required
  • Building production assemblies (BC)
  • Responsible for monthly cycle counts with the assistance of the Factory/Stores Assistant
  • Responsible for annual stock counts
  • Experience in the manufacturing environment
  • The candidates must have recent experience in Microsoft Business Central and especially know how the manufacturing Module BOMs, Planning, etc work
  • The candidate must have experience in managing people

Supplier Management:
  • Liaising with suppliers as to lead times, price adjustments, order multiples, etc
  • Sourcing of stock/consumables if unavailable from current supplier
  • Assessing Suppliers from time to time to ensure that we are getting the best product, at the best price, with the best service levels

Master Data
  • Maintaining Purchase Price file (BC) (master data)
  • Maintaining Item cards (BC) (master data)
  • Maintaining BOMs in both BC and the Manual ERP document

Sales
  • Liaising with customers as to their requirements (Sales Orders), lead times, quality, etc.
  • Communicating Customers’ requirements to the PAA
  • Planning of deliveries to customers & instruction to stores on timeous assembly of parts required
  • Planning of deliveries to customers & liaising with the Shipping Manager as to container requirements
  • Invoicing to customers (BC)

Factory Stores
  • Accountable for the performance of the factory store
  • Applying the disciplinary process with store employees pertaining to issues relating to the store

Reporting
  • Reviewing and giving feedback on weekly exception reports as received from finance dept
  • Reporting to monthly Manco meeting
  • Performing Health & Safety responsibilities
  • Any other ad hoc functions as needed, from time to time, that is deemed necessary pertaining to this position or requested by management

Position Objective
  • Providing an efficient and effective purchasing environment in the factory to ensure that the correct stock is held
  • Ensuring that the administration is done efficiently and effectively to limit problems with vendors, cost of goods, selling prices, stock, etc. 
  • Ensuring that the correct stock, at the correct price, is available at the correct time
Must Haves: 
Manufacturing
Recent MS Business Central (Working experience on the Manufacturing Modules/ Boms)
Management experience
